# Setup Checklist

Follow these steps in order. Total time: ~5 minutes.

## Before you start

You'll need:
- Claude Cowork (Anthropic's desktop agent — required for scheduled runs)
- Access to at least one of: Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Notion
- 5 minutes

*On Claude web instead of Cowork? You can still use this — you'll just run the brief manually each morning instead of having it scheduled.*

## Step 1 — Create the Claude Project (1 minute)

1. Open Claude Cowork
2. Click **Projects** in the sidebar
3. Click **Create project**
4. Name it **"Executive Assistant"**

## Step 2 — Paste the instructions (30 seconds)

1. Open `executive-assistant-prompt.md`
2. Copy the whole thing
3. Paste it into your Project's custom instructions
4. Save

**Don't fill in the blanks yourself.** Claude will interview you in step 4.

## Step 3 — Connect your apps (2 minutes)

1. Go to **Settings** → **Connectors**
2. Click to connect each of these:
   - Gmail
   - Google Calendar
   - Slack
   - Notion
3. Approve access when prompted

Each one takes about 30 seconds. No technical setup — just click, approve, done.

## Step 4 — Run it for the first time (2 minutes)

Type this into your Project:

> *"Run my morning brief."*

Claude will:

1. Interview you about your name, role, priorities, and key people (answer in detail — this is what makes the brief feel personal)
2. Confirm your info back to you so you can verify
3. Ask if it's okay to schedule the brief every weekday at 7:00 AM
4. Run your first brief

That's it. From tomorrow morning forward, the brief shows up in your Slack without you doing anything.

## Want to change your info later?

Just tell Claude. Open the Project and say something like:

> *"My priorities have shifted — I'm now focused on X instead of Y."*

Claude will update its memory of you. You don't have to start over.
